Here is the 1st Grade at Woodside. Cannot remember several of these kids. My mothers writing is not very clear either.

To post, when you go to "Message Forum" on this site, click it.  Then  "Message Forum - Add Response"  shows up  where you write your message.  There is a menu at the top.  Top row, second from the left is an icon, hover over it and it says "image".  Click on it, then browse your computer for the picture.  Hopefully, it is on your computer.  If not, you'll need to scan the picture and save it to your computer.  If you can't do that, go to Costco with the original pictures and they can put them on a DVD for you at a cost.

Geez, I really blew it on the Message Center! I didn't realize that when a profile says  to send a private message that the message went to the Message Center, not back to the profile. DOH! Plus I have, until recently, confused the Message Center with the Message Forum. My sincere apologies to all. (Color me beet red here.)

Paul Miller would like the opportunity to get together with the veterans from our class.  I have contacted the American Legion at Wilson and 6th.  They said that Thursday night, August 23, would be fine to gather either in the bar or in the shelter house out back.  If you would like to talk to Paul about this, you can call him on his cell phone, (509) 979-8576.

Hi Everyone!

We are loving the Elementary and Junior High pictures.  We would love to have them so we can add them to the CD we will have at the Reunion!  However, we will need them soon.  Our last Reunion Committee Meeting is Monday, August 13, at St Leonards church.  It is for anyone to attend!  If you have pictures that you could bring, we will scan them and give them right back to you.  The more the better and of all the schools would be better yet smiley

Please let anyone know if you cannot make it and we will try to make arrangements to meet you somewhere to scan them.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at The Class Reunion!

Just a note to let you know we changed the registration date for the 50th Class Reunion on this website to August 17 (this Friday).  If you tried to register today and could not, the reason is because of the 15th date.  The site would not allow registrations after the 15th.  So, if you haven't registered, please do so.  We would love to see you there!!

Below is a picture of the Newark area bike trails.  You can Google the information about the area.  There are several PDF files you can download.  We have quite an intricate set of trails in the area.

Several people have asked for directions to the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) for the Friday night Mixer.  The address is 255 S. 6th St. in Newark.  You can take 6th Streeet to the end (by Brewsky's) and turn right into the FOP driveway.  You can also come down National Drive (Route 13) to Calburn St. (before the bend that goes over the river), go straight ahead on Calburn (past Brewsky's) and into the FOP driveway.  Follow the drive around until it ends at the building.  Below is a map of the area:

Margaret, thank you for sharing how to post pics on this forum, now I’ll be able to once I locate them.

Gale, I’m sorry I haven’t posted those classroom pics from Mound School, but I have not been able to locate them yet. After our Dad passed on, my brother and I went through the familly pics to see who wanted which ones, and I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to put them in albums.  When I do locate them, I’ll post them; I think you and I may have been in first and second grades together — Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Garrison (?, I think that was her correct name — down in the basement across from the restroom).

I wasn’t certain if I could make it to our 50th Reunion — my husband has recently had two surgeries in as many months and my in-laws are both declining (health) and we’ve been busy with doctor appts., running errands, and obtaining services for them every day; my father-in-law is having surgery tomorrow; with that in mind, I thought it might be best to not plan on attending.

I was looking forward to seeing everyone, but hopefully we can make it to the next one — I know you all will have a great time and enjoy seeing those you haven’t seen for a while

Deb

As reunion weekend approaches, I'm disappointed I'm not going to make it back.  I have so enjoyed reading updates and seeing who is going to be there. I look forward to hearing all about the weekend.  My senior picture is not on my computer, and I don't have access to the yearbook at this time.  Hopefully this site will stay up and running after the reunion. Best wishes to the Class of '68!

Binnie.   Do you remember when we made fudge at Johnny Clem, I think as a math activity.  We could not get away with that in this day and age.  But our family stillmakes that recipe every Christmas and I still have the original recipe card written in 5th grade - if memory serves me. I wish I could have told you this inperson. So sorry you will not be there.   Janet Yost maney

Hi Everyone-

It is with regrets I have to announce I can't attend the Reunion.  I will miss seeing all of you.  I am in the middle of putting another radio station on the air and just started to Pastor at two small United Methodist Churches in the Southern part of our county.  Looking forward to catching up at a later time.  Have fun and great health to all of you .

Thanks for answering Bill and offering to help!  Whenever you are able to be there on Thursday or Friday works for me.  We start decorating at 2:00 on Thursday at the FOP and 10:00 on Friday at St. Leonard's.  I believe we have enough people to help that it won't take more than a couple of hours both days.
