Newark is a Great Place to Live.
Newark has built many new schools. The seven Elementary's are--Carson Elementary replaced Conrad..it is located on East Main Street..Hillview Elementary is on Horn's Hill Road, it replaced Kettering and North Elementary...Legend Elementary is off of Sharon Valley Road, it also replaced North Elementary...Cherry Valley sits where the original was except back off of West Main Street....McGuffey, Ben Franklin (now only an elementary) and John Clem were completely renovated where they always were.
Roosevelt is now the Administrative Offices for Newark City Schools and it also houses LACA, the computer company that runs many local school districts and the ESC which is the County school offices. Wilson has been completely renovated and it is still a Middle School housing 6, 7, and 8th graders. Liberty was built off of Sharon Valley Road (beside Legend Elementary) and it replaced Roosevelt and houses 6, 7, and 8th grade students. Heritage is on Arlington Ave. off of Cedar Street where the old Kettering used to be. It replaced Lincoln which was torn down. It houses the rest of the 6, 7, and 8th grade students.
Which in turn sends all of our 9, 10, 11, and 12th grade students to the New High School...
Newark High has been completely rebuilt. It is all under one roof. We lost C, D and E building as well as the Science building. The Hub, Gym (with an added Auxillary Gym behind original,) Band/Choir Room are the "wings" of the newly built, all under one roof school.
I will be able to take people through the new High School on Saturday of our reunion if anyone wishes to see it! You will be amazed at what they have built!!
I would love to see everyone at the reunion this year!!
