I met John Barrett when we were in 7th grade together at Central Jr. High. He had the most beautiful blue eyes that I had ever seen, one of the kindest hearts in the world & a smile that would melt your heart. We started
"going steady" that year and "dated" off & on until we moved up to the high school in 10th grade. John was my 1st boyfriend - my 1st love - my high school sweetheart! But when we got in high school our lives went in different directions & we broke up - John got married & had 2 daughters - I was just a typical high school girl - but we stayed in touch until I graduated from H.S. & moved back to St. Marys, Ohio. I heard about John's death
from a friend & I couldn't believe it! John was way too young to die - he was such a good person - but I guess heaven needed a blue eyed angel. Peace & Love - Penni "Hogue" Carroll
