John James Elliott

NEWARK: A funeral service, to celebrate the life of John James Elliott, 64, of Newark, will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Tony Hottinger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Knox County. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

John was born in Pike County, Ohio on May 26, 1948 to the late Arley C. and Martha Jane (Triplett) Elliott. He passed away on April 4, 2013 while surrounded by family.

John graduated from Newark High School, Class of 1968. Prior to retirement, he worked for Jeffries Electric for many years. He enjoyed listening to country and bluegrass music. He loved spending time with his loving family, especially taking family camping trips in their motor home.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Teresa M. (Holley) Elliott, whom he married on July 31, 1988; children, Lisa, Galela, Paula, Arnetha, Tony and Jamie; siblings, Loretta, Dutch, Arley Jr, Roger, Albert and George; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Rosanna; three sisters; special friends, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Willie and Reba Holley.
