Oletta Bond (Wade)

I just wanted to update everyone on Linda Korns.  She has colon cancer and just found out she has thyroid cancer also.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's a strong woman and doing remarkably well so far.  Just thought the extra prayers might help her beat both of these.

Thanks, Oletta for the update!  You are right...Linda is very strong and handling these health problems remarkably well!  She is in my thoughts and prayers daily.  I also believe her positive attitude will help her beat this awful disease!

What a great group of friends we have here praying for Linda!  Once again, this reminds me of how great it was to all be together at our reunion this past August and renew all of these friendships!  It is wonderful we can all share in uplifting Linda during this difficult time in her life!

Oletta Bond (Wade)

I'm so glad Linda went to the reunion.  She has received so much support and I am very thankful for that.  Thank you everyone who has been responding and for thinking of Linda.  I want her to beat this cancer.  It was bad enough that she had colon cancer but to get thyroid too is unthinkable. She is handling it very well though.  Very proud of her!!

We received this information about Steve Mix from Belinda (Binnie) Smith Phillips.  May Steve rest in peace.

Deceased Classmate: Stephen Mix
Date Deceased: December-3-2012
Age at Death: 62:
Classmate City: McConnelsville
Classmate State: OH
Survived By: Wife, Irene, and daughter, Francine, both of California. And a sister, Kim Mix, of Newark.

Steve was my 1st cousin. He had many health issues and had withdrawn from most back in 80s. He had moved to McConnellsville where his dad lived, and worked on a Mennonite farm. He helped take care of his dad when he had cancer and passed away. Steve stayed on at the Mennonite farm and when his health deteriorated that family took care of him. He was active in their church and being a Mennonite service, there was not a public obituary. I was unable to attend the service, but I stay in touch with my cousin, Kim, Steve's sister.

I, too, am happy for the information on Linda.  She is in my thoughts and prayers. I am wondering if someone would contact her to see if it would be ok to list her name on the prayer chain of my church. Thanks all.

So Sorry to hear the news here lately about our classes’ struggles...recently passed, my bother Phil’s wife Karen, a sweet and wonderful person, wife & mother...Keep the Faith!  We love life and cling to it.. we are yet to know what happens next..Keep the Faith!  Saw a wonderful Dr Oz (episode last Friday, May 17th) show on “Heaven”. Please watch it !  Very interesting ,hopeful and inspiring . Also found a poem “The Ship” ..What is dying...I am standing on the Seashore, A Ship sails in the morning breeze & starts for the ocean..She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her till at last ..She fades on the horizon and someone at my side says “She is Gone”  Gone!  Where?  Gone from my sight that is all..She is just as large in the mast, hull and spars as she was when I saw her, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destination... the diminished size & total loss of sight is in me..not in her..and just at the “Moment” when someone at my side says “She is Gone” ...there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout  “ There She Comes”  and that is dying-Bishop Brent....on a lighter note 🎵.Got to Vegas for annual Trucking Convention..met John B at the Wynn (if you like decorating I call the Wynn... Martha Stewart does Vegas..) Had a great visit with John...Good to sit with him and he introduced us to “Bumbu rum” and heard some Great Stories! He sure has some Good ones...We were talking about “You All” or “You Guys”..Phil Jenkins name came up,Margaret, feeling your loss 💞  John said we need to get together more often because we are “at the age that we are” ..Was so fun!   Keep on Trucking...and keep the FAITH !  Love Denise ( Dr Oz Heaven a must see)<>>
