Larry Wilson

It was quite a shock to hear about Gary.  We go back to First Communion at St. Francis.  It was through Gary that I joined the Boy Scouts.  He will be greatly missed.  May he rest in peace.

Sad to learn of Gary's death. He was another great one from the class of 1968. Easy going and a pleasure to be around.

Three  weeks ago I was visiting my Mom at Sharonbrooke Assisted Living and the Newark High Choir made a surprise showing. They were visiting the middle schools and had some free time due to lunch schedules. They are now much more of a swing chorus now instead of the Robed choir when I was a member. They were however top notch entertainers. tThey were very much enjoyed by the Seniors, including me. Good job NHS choir.

Margaret Freytag (Stewart)

Hello to all.  I just had a thought about the 50th reunion in 2018, hoping there is one and hoping that it might be at a time of year that would bring more people from out of state, like myself and more local class members too.  It is always helpful to have several reasons to fly back to Ohio and if the reunion was in October, for me anyway, it would be a greater incentive as the Western US does not have the fall color Ohio has plus the cooler weather in October. Also, flights, lodging and rental cars are less expensive than in summer and summers are so busy.  It is hard to rationalize leaving the Western states awesome summers for heat and humidity.

I also looked up the Ohio State 2018 football schedule and see that, according to the internet, October 27 is presently open (no game scheduled at this time).  I am hoping that that date might be considered for the 50th reunion.  I'm writing this so early presuming no planning has started yet so that this could be considered.  I have secondary reasons for wanting to know a date for the reunion early, so that I don't schedule any trips or cruises at the same time as I have started traveling out of the country pretty much every year at this point in my life.   I am willing to help plan (as far as I can from Seattle) and/or help with the setting up as needed once there.  Anyway, I am asking for responses to this Saturday, October 27, 2018, date suggestion to see if it is favorable or not.

I think Margaret has some good thoughts and I just hate the humid, hot weather of the summers here. Plus I don't want to see a football game take away from everyone being together.

October 27th sounds like a good day, since there is not a OSU game.

I like Margaret's suggestion. One of the things I miss about Ohio is the fall colors we don't really get here, and the weather in October in Ohio is usually just right. Late October in eastern Washington could be 70 or it could be zero. I've seen them both. Margaret is on the opposite side of the state in a much more moderate climate. I would drive back for our 50th.

I think 10/27/18 is a great idea! I'll turn 69 on 10/25, God willing and the criks don't rise, so I'll be looking for one last fling before I hit the 70's. I just can't believe, despite aching knees and joints, that it's been almost 50 years. I thought this kind of thing only happened to our parents. Will definitely be there,
