King S. Crenshaw

NEWARK: Funeral services for King S. Crenshaw, 69 of Columbus will be held Friday April 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington Street with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Crenshaw died Monday April 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1948 in Greenville, Alabama to Wiley and Ebbie (Moorer) Crenshaw, III.

He was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Columbus. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was employed as a machinist with American Showa. He was committed to his yard work and gardening. He was a corvette enthusiast an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. 

He is survived by his wife, Diane L. (Blacksten) Crenshaw, whom he married July 7, 1980; children, Brandi Crenshaw of Columbus, Vincent Blacksten of Charlotte, NC, Jackie (Steven) Kempton of Newark; grandchildren, Jayden Crenshaw, Aryanna Ward, Caitlin Blacksten, Christina Blacksten, DeAna Danflous, Ashley CcClain, Tangia McClain, Jacob McClain; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Danflous; brothers and sisters, Zola (Rilous) Byrd of Newark, Verncile Crenshaw of Columbus, Helen J. (Richard) Franklin of Columbus, Claude Crenshaw of Erie, PA, Elizabeth (Claude) Cochran of Columbus, Bettie Knight of Hilliard, Wade (Pasly) Davidson of Alabama, Wayne (Deanna) Davidson of Maryland; step-mother, Lena Crenshaw of Greenville, Alabama; host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ira "Buck" Crenshaw.

Calling hours will be observed Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Newark chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street. Additional calling hours will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

The family requests memorial contributions to Home Reach Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
