In 1957, Lois allowed me to carry her books home for her from our first grade class at Cherry Valley. I think I had seen some kid do that for his girlfriend on TV. To this day, I wonder if she thought this little gallantry was more silly than sweet.  [August, 2018: The spate of pictures posted for our class's 50th reunion indicate that Lois probably did not attend Cherry Valley until the third grade.  So my first childhood "crush" occurred somewhat later.  But Lois was always a lovely gal, and I am still wondering.]

My fun-loving, so musically-talented friend. We enjoyed the music, the classes, the basketball games. Such a tragic loss. She will never be forgotten.
